Are You a Witness in Your City?

David Wilkerson (1931-2011)

We often expect God to move in one of two ways: either by sending a supernatural outpouring of his Holy Spirit to sweep multitudes into his kingdom, or by sending judgment to bring people to their knees or even destroy them. But, beloved, that is not God’s method of changing things in an evil day. His way of rebuilding ruins has always been to use ordinary men and women whom he has touched. And he does this by filling them with his Holy Spirit and sending them into the warfare with great faith and power! “And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit” (Acts 2:4).

Isaiah 61:1

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound.

Seeking the Lost

David Wilkerson (1931-2011)

Jesus came into this world for one reason only — to reach and save lost souls. “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost” (Luke 19:10). And he made that our mission as well when he said, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15).

Isaiah 61:1

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound.

The Power of A Reluctant Witness

Carter Conlon

Is it possible that there is someone in your life that God is prompting you to speak to and you’d rather not? Is it possible that God is speaking, looking for a witness to what he's speaking to the heart? We might find ourselves reluctant to speak in this generation. But even if we're not inclined to speak, God still is. And when we move in unison with him, mercy, sometimes on a scale bigger than we could ever imagine, is unleashed.
